online poker RNG's

Postby Jody B » Mon Mar 01, 2004 1:37 pm GMT

Does anyone feel that the RNG's simulate a real deck of cards?

RNG's

So you do think that the RNG's are actually as fair as a deck of cards.I can't substatiate my leariness of that fact but, aces sure do hit the board an awful lot on some of these sites.I almost wonder if it is not to create action, and or,speed up hands which inturn means more rakes for the house.

Start doing the math and see. An A should be flopped 18% of the time if you hold one, 24% of the time if you dont. Over 100 hands (just over a hour on most sites) you should get a pretty good data set.

You are seeing a lot of hands, so an Ace should be flopped every 3 minutes. That can "seem" very frequent, when it is really just the norm.

Now if you want to evaluate the unusual frequency of pocket As vs pocket Ks in tourneys, then we will get the conspiracy theorists coming out of the woodwork.

Thanks Dave,I have only been playing Holdem for about six months now.I want to absorb as much knowledge about this game as I can.I have 1 final table to my credit with over 1200 entries.I feel like I have to work on not calling big bets as much to become a better player.Thats how I ended up here!
