Over pair on co-ordinated board

Villain is an unknown. I've only played a few hands at this table but he's been limp/calling a lot of hands and is generally passive post flop.

Full Tilt Poker $0.05/$0.10 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players - View hand 25575
The Official 2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked.com

Hero (MP): $9.45
CO: $9.40
BTN: $1.95
SB: $7.80
BB: $7.45
UTG: $7.65

Pre Flop: ($0.15) Hero is MP with Q:diamond: Q:spade:
1 fold, Hero raises to $0.35, 1 fold, BTN calls $0.35, 1 fold, BB calls $0.25

Flop: ($1.10) 4:diamond: 2:spade: 3:diamond: (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $1.10, BTN folds, BB calls $1.10

Turn: ($3.30) T:diamond: (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks

River: ($3.30) 5:spade: (2 players)
BB bets $3.30, Hero ???

should I have bet the turn or was I right to try and control the pot a bit? I was quite mindful of the fact I could get check raised if I bet out and I figured that if another diamond came that I may well be good. An offsuit 5 was the last card I wanted to see.

I think there are too many aces, sets and flushes in his range here to call. Only hands I could put him on that I beat were 77,88,99 & JJ or air and I don't think there's much chance of him bluffing here.

looks to me like he road that Ax for all it was worth.

I probably bet the turn, with only one card to come you don't need to fire as much off to make draws a bad deal odds wise, probably 1/2 the pot. If he comes over the top fold and wait for a better spot.
