well i ordered both from casino supply.com and they sent me pool table felt. the paddign was ok...i guess, but i was very disapointed with the felt. they called it poker speed cloth and it was crap. POOL TABLE FELT IS NOT POKER FELT!!! ahh it made me mad. i dont reccomend it. ud be better off to go to the fabric store.

The poker speed cloth from casino supply is not felt at all, if you got felt you got the wrong stuff!

best compromise Ive found for fabric is velvet! Its half the cost of speedfelt and MHO is the cards fly faster too! For the foam, just go to the fabric store. They should have what you need.

Thanks for the help.I was thinking of using styrofoam padding.Like1/4 an inch.I think this might dent.As for the cloth.Do you think a trimed carpet would work?I have some extra carpet laying around.

Thank for the info

I went to a carpet store and bought some 1/4 inch padding from them. It ain't pretty, but it'll be covered up anyway so who cares.

padding

Postby dannyocean » Sun Apr 18, 2004 11:37 pm GMT

I looked in the yellow pages at upholster's and found a guy down the street that does car upholstery and he sold some 1/4" stuff that he called Landau padding. He said it's the stuff they use under ragtops on cars. I bought it for $12/yard (60" wide). It's nice stuff, looks to be water resistant/proof too.
