Paulson Chips.....I need some advice: (Pics inside)
I can get my hands on these.....do you know anything about them? I do know that they are out of production, and will be out of commision in 30 days....is it worth it for me to buy them? Can money be made here? Do you know anything about them?

My personal impression of the market is if they are "Paulson" they have value. The question is are they worth more than you are going to have to pay for them and how many will you have.

I can get 500 right now.......does anybody have an idea what they are worth?
I can buy 500 or more for less than $1 a piece.....less than 500 would be over a $1 a piece.......
It's from a casino that is changing out there Paulsons for Chipcos.
I would need to get $2.50 a chip to make it be worth my while.
If I buy them...I will be buying ALL of them....so you all see my dilemna.

how will you be reselling them? In a lot or individually? Can you buy a few to see if you can get rid of them then buy the rest?

Problem is....the guy will sell me 100 easily....but then the offer is off the table.......
The smallest amount I will buy is 500....so I can make a somewhat decent profit.....
The window I got is 30 days....the $1 chips in this place will become chipcos in that time, so they are still in circulation. He will sell me less than 500 chips at a markup from the face value, with the caveat that they will be delivered to me, (they are not allowing walkup buys, to not breakup the sets), If I buy 500 chips or more (lots of 100) he will give me a discount from the face value ($1) the $5 chips go out of commision in 6 months, They are keeping the $10 and $25 chips in circulation. The .50 chips are all sold.
There is 15,000 for sale BTW.

Something else to consider is that most of these are going to be well worn and also probably quite dirty. To get the most out of them they need to look good. You will have a much harder time convincing someone to pay top dollar if the chips look abused. Additionally, I would watch eBay for a week or two and see what the Paulson’s are doing there. As I said, simply being Paulson’s gives them value but the fact they are all the same denomination will make it more difficult to get rid of them and turn a profit. It’s too bad you can’t get at least 3 consecutive denoms.

Yeah, I'm not too crazy about their all over design, but might pick up a set if they were a decent price, under $1 per chip.
I wouldn't consider it unless you have a definite lock on the $5 chips.

I think you've missed the point. Unless I'm mistaken, he's trying to buy wholesale and sell retail.

Exactly.....I am just testing the waters to see if it is even worth the effort.
