Pokerstars-you must buy in for the max
On a few of PS's cash tables, I've noticed you must buy-in for the max. Simply, you can't buy in for anything less.
Does this mean the standard is slightly better than the tables which allow you to buy in for less and should therefore be avoided?
My thought process behind this is; unless you were comfortable in your ability to play with a large stack, you wouldn't.

Unsure exactly what you mean?Jernej Zorec wrote:um are u sure ?

I was playing the 9 seater $0.25-$0.50 NLHE cash tables. I counted 9 tables where you have to buy-in for $50. But i know they have this all the way upto the $3-$6 tables at least.
Is this what you mean?

please make a screenshoot of these tables, coz what we are telling u is that tables where u can only buy in for 100bbs do not exist on stars

Crap. You are right. Sorry!Jernej Zorec wrote:please make a screenshoot of these tables, coz what we are telling u is that tables where u can only buy in for 100bbs do not exist on stars
I've just got home from work now and looked into it. The thing that confused me was the bit when you need to confirm how much you want to bring to the tables. When you go to the 50bb min tables the amount defaults to the max. Since I always buy-in for the max anyway I just assumed this was the case (as on the other tables it usually defaults to $30)
My appologies.
However, although my question is given slightly less strength, does it still mean the standard is better on these tables?

I think it also depends on whether or not it is a speed table, doesn't it?
I haven't been on pokerstars in a long time, but on Party, I believe the max buy-ins depend on the speed, blinds (of course), and the type of game (limit, no limit, pot limit). Example: No limit will have a higher buy-in than limit at the same blinds.
Could it be something similar to that?

I would be surprised if any poker site changed its rules for buying in based on whether it was a speed table or not.

No, no-limit tables have a capped buy-in of some sort, whereas on a limit table you can sit down with as much as you want (see here), because you can never put more than 12 big bets in on any one hand.
