Steal blinds and slow play

To get back to the original post, don't think that stealing blinds only comes from late position. Especially in NL, a large raise from early position can scare away decent, but not great, hands. ("Wow, they bet that much early, they must have rockets").
Of course, there's significantly more risk that someone behind you has a great hand...
So, stealing blinds essentially boils down to overplaying your hand in an effort to chase out the rest of the players and collect the blinds.
