When can you show your cards?
I've been watching the 2003 World Series of Poker and I'm pretty sure I've seen players show their cards before the river is placed. Are there any rules for showing your cards before the showdown?
Thanks.
Thanks.

^ Yes, that is correct. But you can ALSO show your cards after you win before the flop when you've been uncalled, you know, you advertise a bluff or something. And you can also show your hand when you fold if it's a crappy hand so it doesn't matter you showed it. You should NEVER show tough laydowns, like throwing away two-pair when you read your opponent for trips.
