my biggest pot ever...

Postby Hurricane Ham » Wed Dec 14, 2005 11:12 pm GMT

And the sad part is, there isn't much I could have done worse in this hand. Nothing but fishyness coming out of this one. I've never pulled for a spade so hard in my life.

I called on fourth simply because I felt like peeling one off for another spade, and they were very live and there was a lot in the pot already. Call on fifth was just awful, fishing for my three outer gutshot, and then when the ace came....well OMG ACES GOTTA BET! Really I'm just excited and wanted to share it, and consequently have you guys rip me apart for being so lucky. :)

Generally 3/6, but they usually aren't full on Stars so more often than not I'm at 2/4. I felt like taking a shot at some bigger stakes since all the 3/6 and 2/4 tables were full and I didn't feel like waiting. I do it once in a while to keep myself focused if I notice my play starts to slip. I tend to go on autopilot and not think about what I'm doing if I play a lot, so the higher stakes get me paying attention and gets the heart rate up a bit :), even if it's only for 30 minutes.

Play isn't drastically different either, I actually see many of the same names spread throughout the different tables at 2/4, 3/6, and 5/10, so I have a decent feel for most of the people at whatever level I'm playing.

All I have to say is wow, and I wish that I had your luck. Maybe even half, I'd be almost unstoppable.

I was at Stars last night playing a 2/4 table with some of the same people I see in this hand.

Man, some of those people are CRAAAZZZYYYY. One of the more maniacal tables I've played in awhile, with people betting out and raising to the river with absolute garbage in their hands.

Ham thats just too much luck!!!.... Only problem I see if you continue playing like that is over the long haul your gonna lose money. Your not going to hit those hands everytime you try for them and in the end your gonna spend allot more trying to hit one then you will make when you do hit one.

Yeah Fishy, majority of the players you see often aren't that good. Carter_tml seems reasonably solid at the lower limits. Milan's not half bad either, watched her up at 10/20 holding her own very well today, but she dabbles in various limits.

Don9551 or something close to it is an absolute goofball, and I've seen him play as high as 5/10 and can't remember him ever winning much. Few others I can't remember off the top of my head, but there's some pretty good pickins to be had. I haven't had a losing session in three weeks thanks to these goons, and probably a nice little hot streak.

And I just realized I was playing with you at the 2/4 this morning and didn't notice. Oops.
