Nexgen II

Postby tame_deuces » Sat Dec 10, 2005 6:38 pm GMT

I'm thinking of purchasing some Nexgen II (new las vegas mold), I'm on a student budget so I won't spend too much on chips, but I'm tired of my dice chips which I have been playing with for the last two years.

Are these ok chips or are they just your run of the mill plasticky horrors?

Get samples from 5star or etc... Nexgens have a unique feel which some like and some don't.

i think they're fine, if you're thinking about doing labeling. if not, i recommend the faux clays (hurry before they sell em out).

Oki, thanks for the tips people. I'll try to get some samples.

As for the faux clays, I considered them, but really want some chips with edgespots. I'd consider other alternatives too but I live in norway, and the chip-market here is basically low-cost chips and paulsons, with no in betweens. :)

NexGens

Postby lwestatbus » Sat Jan 07, 2006 11:01 pm GMT

I really like the NexGens a lot. I think that the Las Vegas chips have one of the best color schemes of the mass market chips and I like their heft and feel.

I strongly recommend that you go to PokerChipShopping.com. You can order individual chips of different types. I recommend that you get five of each color of the LV NexGen, River Poker Tour NexGen and also the Big Slick 11.5g chips. All of these take 1" labels if you want to do some labeling. You really can't get a feel for how you'll like the chips unless you have a few and you'll pay enough for shippinng for even a few chips that adding some more really doesn't cost you that much more. PCS.com lets you fill your shopping cart and compute shipping charges before going final on the order.

I went with the RPT chips because I don't live in Vegas and do live along a river.

Good luck.

Check out the 10g sopranos on 5star. These don't have metal inserts and sound a lot better.
