ding, ding, ding....*end round one*.....now go to your corners boys.
ScanX,
I imagine they must SW running to track how often they play togther at tables, on same hands, and if bells go off they may look closer at the hands to see if collusion is evident.
Have you posed this question directly to the online site itself? Worth a shot to ask.

I think they also rely on players. If you notice something fishy send an email and im sure they will look into it.

This actually happened to me a few months ago in a $20 SNG on Pacific Poker. Four players left and two players clearly kept sharing their chips by raising and reraising until the other two players folded. It's very difficult to play any hand against two players that are capping out every betting round and know what each other holds. We called them out and they neither denied it or tried to defend themselves so me and the other guy decided to email support and report the cheaters. I got an email back a few days later saying they have many ways of dealing with online cheating, my report is under investigation and they take every measure to maintain the site's integrity, blah, blah, blah. Then they credited my $20 back to my account.
If you think there is any collusion between players, I highly recommend contacting the website support with names and a description of what you suspect. They have the means to review a tournament's and player's history and, at least in my case, they took care of it.

I find lesbians cool tempers, in general. Think about it: Would you rather argue, or watch girls kiss? This is why I provide two or more attractive lesbians at any social occasion where politics, religion, or abortion may be discussed. It gets mean, I snap the fingers, they kiss, we stare, and the argument vanishes into the wind.

one of the main things they monitor is ip addresses
however people will find ways round this
i think poker rooms rely a lot on feedback from players as well
