Triad the end of your table doesnt bow down if somone leans on it?

We are building the same table but if somone were to lean on it it had a tendancy to bow down a bit so we made a square suppurt around the bottom. When its finishe Ill post the pics......you might like a few of our details.

Awesome job on it!!

I might have missed it but what are your dimensions? Length and width?{EDIT} nevermind!

I was also considering making a frame underneath the playing surface for that reason. Do you think using 1" MDF would fix the problem without a frame?

I looked closer at tirads table and what saves it from the "bow" is that the playing surface is close enough to help support the table (where you rest your arms) from the top instead of the bottom

I also stumbled across this page via Google. I read all the post, and am excited on starting my own poker table.

I have a few friends that play poker but not to many. What is the best way to find new people to play house game with?

Thanks

I'm thinking perhaps of using a double pedestal method for my table (oval table, hence the double pedestal), but I can't find metal pedestals anywhere. Preferrably I'd like to be able to unscrew the shaft from the table for easy storage... anyone seen anything like this? Anyone know what I'm talking about?

its similar to a free standing bridge, the cables hold the bridge from falling, from above.

The padded playing suface is screwed from below holding both peices togather, if you were to lean on the edge of the table it will "bow" less because the screws and the top surface are holding it up.

did it help?
