I bet on em. If you do, don't buy a park program. Pick up
a local newspaper, goto the sports section and view the line
up. Look for a set of numbers under a header called
'Ragozin'. That is a lifetime improvement and most recent
rating system done by a writer in NY. There are 3 numbers
per horse.. Look for the lowest number preferably most to
the left, most recently, and go up from there. Bet on
combinations of the top 4 ranked horses based on lowest
Ragozin number, and almost guarantee you'll hit something.
And yes the derby is still on, I just got a reminder email from
my local track about simulcasting.

I was looking at kentuckyderby.com... they have a lineup of the horses that will be racing. I read a little bit about horsebetting after I'd read Seabiscuit. Who are you beting on?

Where's Beerwench...This is her kinda of topic.

I've been to the local track 3 times in my life and walked away with more money than I went in with each time. My gramps was into the ponies and that's why I went (was taking him). It was kinda cool and I always said I'd go back on my own, but just have not gotten around to it. My betting was basically picking a trifecta for each race where 2 of the 3 picks had to place in order to win (if I'm remembering correctly). I'd pick a favorite, a mid ranked horse and a long-shot. Work for me those times, but mostly dumb luck I imagine.
