om/8 advertising budget

Postby Xamzax » Mon Mar 27, 2006 6:08 am GMT

The ideal om/8 table is, for me, a loose table with one maniac doing pf raising. If there are five or more callers on average, holding suited Aces with a duece is superbly profitable for me.

One wall I run into is this, when I enter a hand in early position, fewer people call pre flop. I wasn't aware that people playing this game actually paid attention, but now I see that my profitable tight play has one hill to cross... my image.

I know that typically, advertising budgets are paid for by naked A2 hands or high wraps or other aceless hands such as: 2-2-3-4 DS. Should I be playing these hands at the looser tables in earlier positions (and thus be rid of the ultra tight perception) to get more bets or continue playing ultra tight for more secure equity?

And if anyone has any suggestions regarding advertising here, it'd be appreciated.

Even in a loose game, the majority of your money will come from simply playing strong hands before the flop and drawing only to the nuts. In a loose game, that's usually all you need to win.
