Caught middle pair...DRAMA...

What do you do when you have caught a middle pair with the best kicker...

I've raised to narrow down the field, and I get two other callers.

The flop comes
Kc Th and 9h

player1 checks (2000 Chips),

I hold AT of diamonds (5000 chips), and check.

Player 3( 6000 Chips) moves all in with Kd and 8c.

Player1 calls all in(on a strait draw with 7h 8d)

At this point I know player 3 has caught hit a king to make top pair. I still don't know what player1 holds.

With 2 players all in, and me yet to make a decision...

What is the best suggestion...
to Call or Fold.

I ended up folding, But i don't know if that was the right decision at the time..

The turn comes 10c
and the River is the As

Giving me the Full house...

The end result is play 3 wins with a 2 Pair, kings and tens..

I've been on tilt since....

So my questions was did i make the right decision, to lay down...

Good fold, especially since you knew that one of them held a king.

You can't really consider what happened AFTER you made the laydown, you have can only go by the information you had at the time.

I think that's a very clear fold really... You're behind. You're drawing against an all-in and a call (generally you need a better hand to call an all in and an even better hand to overcall, i.e. call against an all in and a previous call). You have 5 outs and backdoor draws at best. And from an odds perspective you're getting a little less than 2 to 1, even if we credit you a full extra out for your backdoor draws you need 3 to 1.

If for whatever reason you decided you needed to play that hand out, the thing to do would have been to push first when you had the chance. You can't really expect to get a free card there, so if you decide you're calling any bet, get in there first when you have the opportunity. Maybe you get top pair weak kicker guy to fold, and if you don't, well, nothing to do then but sit back and watch your boat come in. But I think folding was definitely correct.

Absolutely a fold if you put one of the innners on a king.

And as to going on tilt of what 'could have been': never do this. The odds of an ace or ten dropping werent too good. The odds of both dropping for a boat? Just look at it and laugh. Sometimes hands you fold may have developed into something great, but most times not. Make your decision based on the situation at hand, and stand by it.

Folding was definitely the right call here.

I'm kind of curious how you knew that player 3 had a K to make top pair. Why not QJ for the straight, a set of nines, Aces, or even Queens or Jacks on a semii-bluff?

Actually, given the post-flop checking, why not virtually any bluff? Could just as easily be explained by the big stack pushing small who've shown weakness.

All that being said, and not having too much info on the pre-flop action/blinds/status of game, there are far too many hands that you're behind to want to call.

I agree with Golddog.

He's last to act and you two checked. He has player 1 by 3 to 1 in chips and you covered by 1000. If there is anything you can take away from our feedback it should be to not only look at the cards but other things as well. There could have been a ton of other hands he had that would have put you behind. Or it could have simply been a bluff on his part and Player 1 was slow playing AA or KK or AK which is why he called. Don't focus on the only card out there that can beat you, the King.

Your gut said to fold. Good move. But not just because you felt he had a King and another person was all-in.

In my optinion your mistake was not to bet the flop. If you hit the flop you should bet! Especially in first position.

But if two players go all-in after you it's an easy fold with a middle pair. Maybe one of them is bluffing, but both of them???
