Amazing Omaha Laydown...

Postby JewishPete » Wed Jul 05, 2006 11:15 am GMT

I saw this posted on the 2+2 forums in the Omaha Section. Now remember, I am still quite new to Omaha, but I have come pretty far in a reasonable amount of time. I want to see if our resident Omaha Sharks think this is as unbelievable of a fold as I do...

I wouldn't want to bet $3,000 to find out information, that seems a little to 'good' to be true there and a total waste of money to boot!

The only way I can see laying that down is against an extremely tight raiser who will not raise with anything other than the stone cold nuts. Otherwise, I think laying down Aces full would be a blunder of the highest degree. Literally only one hand beats him, and it's a rare hand (not like holding a K high flush, in which case only an Ace high flush beats you, but there are many combinations of Ax that produce a superior hand... here only 44, the case two fours, produces the better hand).

For most poker variants 'amazing laydowns' is generally just bad play.

If Villain is a solid player, would he raise the river with a worse boat?
