Home Tournament questions
Hello,
I'm considering the purchase of 1000 Crystal Oyster chips with the following qty/denoms/total amt:
255 - $5 1275
300 - $25 7500
240 - $100 24000
100 - $500 50000
75 - $1000 75000
30 - $5000 150000
With 15 players entered into this tournament, the chip out is:
17 - $5 = $85
20 - $25 = $500
16 - $100 = $1600
6 - $500 = $3000
5 - $1k = $5000
-----------------------
64 - chips = $10,185 x 15players 152775
64 chips x 15 players = 960 chips
With the remaining 30 5k chips and 10 $500 chips "in the bank", there should be no problem buying out all the lower denomination chips leaving the 5k and 1k chips in play.
Ok, with all that into consideration (Yes, I am coming to a question
), and a blind schedule of:
7:00pm 10/20
7:15 20/40
7:30 30/60
7:45 40/80
8:00 break
8:15 50/100
8:30 75/150
8:45 100/200
9:00 break
9:15 200/400
9:30 400/800
9:45 500/1000
10:00 break
10:15 750/1500
10:30 1000/2000
10:45 1500/3000
11:00 break
11:15 2000/4000
11:30 2500/5000
11:45 3000/6000
12:00 break
12:15 4000/8000
12:30 8000/16000
12:45 16000/32000
1:00am game over
...would this blind layout result in a completed game by 1am or is it just too much to cope with? Also, would this be a tournament that would interest you more than the average "$500 in colored, non denom, diamond chips" starting stash?
I appreciate any comments.
Greg

I would stick with five denominations not six and with your blinds doubling every 15 minutes I think your game will end much sooner than 1am. I would say around 11pm or so. Especially if half of the people playing are novice to beginners.
