right call????
I was playing a NL satalite at partypoker, it was early in the tourament, I had about 1200 in chips (started w/ 1000).
I was dealt pocket AA and bet $200 (blinds were $25 and $50) and was called by one player. W/ the other BS the pot was about $600-700 preflop. The flop comes 4, 4, 9. I bet $200 and was reraised to $400, I call. The turn was a 9, so two pairs on the board.
I check and the other dude puts me all in-he had about $300 more before the hand. Now I am thinking that he either has an Ace, a 4 or a 9, or an overpair.
I fold. But after thinking about it, I think that I would have rather gone out early w/ the As versus being left short stacked and never recovering. He never showed his hand-so I dont know if I made the right decision or not.
What would others have done? The tournament had about 750 players w/ 59 or so advancing. When I went out, 550 remained.

I believe u made the right decision but u could have perhaps taken the pot earlier with a more aggressive betting strategy. Granted the flop could have been nicer but u still could have squeezed the other guy off the pot with a better raise. Just my opinion, I haven't played poker in 4 months

I need more info to answer this question. Was the opponent who called one of the blinds? If so, I would have folded at the reraise. But if he was not a blind, and was reraising, I'd believe he was bluffing. In a ring game, I'd reraise immediately and see what happens. But that's easier said than done in a tournament.

Yeah, that was probably the correct fold. He may have had just Ace high, but you could certainly put him on an ace. He COULD have called your reraise with A9-A4 suited, in which case it's still a kinda crappy call but is certainly much more respectable. Or he could have had another overpair, you are right.
