Poker After Dark, Week 3 Hand 1

Postby wEbMaStEr » Thu Jan 18, 2007 8:19 pm GMT

Can someone please tell me what happened in hand 1 between Mortensen & Ferguson? The file I have of it joins the show just after JuanCarlos drops 12K in chips to Jesus. Action Please.

*Rough sketch of the action as near as I remember it*

Jesus raises to 600 on the button with AJ.
Carlos reraises to something like 1800 with QQ.
Carlos bets somewhere around 2000 in the dark.
Flop comes A-high with two unders to the Queens.
Jesus raises to 5000.
Carlos reraises to 10000.
Jesus studies, and raises all-in (20000).
Carlos folds.

Praise Jesus!

It was an awesome play.

Last night, Johnny Chan made a fantastic play with Aces, and an equally donkish play with J9, too.

Ah ok, was wondering how they managed to get so much in the middle without on of them going broke.

Sometimes you just have to let those ladies go.

I was super impressed with Moneymakers re-raise on ferguson when the board was QQT and Jesus had T8 Money had 45 or something.

He was taking so long i was thinking he has to raise here after waiting SO long. I was just astonished when he did it!

This weeks game has been really boring with not so much chit chat at the table, but the poker being played is fantastic.

Glad Jamie Gold got busted early and was also glad to hear Doyle stacks him on HSP

I don't hate Moneymaker. In fact, I don't think people give him enough credit most of the time.

Could not disagree more. If they're going to put anyone else in, it should be Hellmuth for the ratings, though he said he wouldn't play in any more PaD. Failing that, they should have gone for Scotty Nguyen. Varkonyi is the last guy I want to see on TV. I think they line-up they chose is fine in any case.

oh no don't get me wrong I think this is an awesome table to see play it out... I just wanted to see varkony get torn apart by the new and old champs... it would've been fun to see how he does against them...

Whaddup with the hate for Mortensen? The guy is a Fine player! Ok, maybe he isn't on TV as much as some others but the guy can play and is one of the few WSOP Champs to also have won a WPT event.

Also i think Helmuth will defo be back on this show. the producers will pander to his every need to have him back.

The one guy I don't want to see back is David Grey! I'm sure he's a very nice guy and all that, but f*ck is he annoying! Has he ever had a thought he didn't vocalise?
