card ranking
Hello,
I read some rules on poker on the net, but there is never explicitely mentioned how a hand is assessed next to the hand rankings.
Suppose, two players show their cards:
On the table are some cards, two of them are an king and a queen
Player1: queen, ace
Player: king, nine
Who is winning?
- I tought that if both have a pair, one should look at the remaing card in your hand: so the player with the ace is winning?
- Or is it the value of the pair which makes it?
Regards,
Jeroen

Here is a link explaining how to figure out the winning hand in general:

For your example, highest pair wins.
