I want to host a game for 6 to 8 people. We like to play limit with $1/$2 blinds in vegas; what would be a good number of chips and their denomination. And we all want at least 50 chips in front of us when we start. Thank you.

Ajaxdude, its common practice to buy in at 20 x big blind or 10 times the maximum bet. That makes the mimum buy-in for your table $40.

With 8 people in your game you will need at least $320 in chips available. Now that is the minimum amount of chips you could have, of course you want to have more than just the minimum.

Limit games are easy in that you can get by with only a couple denominations of chips. I would suggest going with about 200-300 in $1 chips and 50-100 $5 chips.

Even the bare minimum in those ranges would have you covered.
