looking for books in the UK

Postby MrDarling » Mon Dec 18, 2006 9:38 am GMT

Hi ,
Am going over to the UK for two weeks starting tomorrow. Visiting family in Birmingham.
Though this will be a good opportunity to buy a couple of poker books.
Where is the best place to buy them.
Shell I buy online (amazon), as shipment to the UK is much cheaper or is there any where I can get them off the selves for a decent price?

Thanks

Danny

I've found that the choice of books in the shops in the UK isn't great, so you're probably better off getting them from the internet.

books are much more expensive in uk shops than online.

the bigger book chains are Waterstones, Borders and Blackwells and they should have a decent-ish range... there should be one or two of these in birmingham, if not all three

thebookrepository.co.uk, tesco.com and jersey.tesco.com are pretty good and often cheaper than amazon if you want to buy online within the uk

would have thought with the exchange rate that the uk would be a pretty expensive place to buy books from though tbh, esp if you're coming over from the us. there's no vat on books in the uk though.
