The last person to have the initiative shows first, and it doesn't matter when the last bet was put in.

If Player A bets the turn and gets called by Player B, and then both players check the river, Player A shows first.

Not necessarily. Most places I have played start w/ the left of the button if there is no action on the river. I think Harrah's (including Caesars) casinos have last action show 1st.

They have some other goofy rules regarding who can request to see mucked cards too.

the player who has been called must show his hand...

if theres no betting on the river, the player in the earliest position shows first, SB, then BB, etc.

Same Thing?

Postby lwestatbus » Thu Aug 30, 2007 12:01 am GMT

It seems to me that all three answers are saying the same thing. If there is a bet and a call clearly the bettor has to show. If it checks around the first player to check had the last initiative.

I haven't heard of the initiative rule being applied to the bettor in a previous round if there is no action in the current round.

Have played in one casino where all players going to showdown must show cards so who shows first is moot. (This place didn't enforce this automatically but if any player requested a showing they had to show.) At another place all players at showdown must show cards but only a player in the hand at showdown can request that they be shown.

As far as I know this is a common rule to most casino's (hence in most online game you can see all cards that got to SD)
