tourney question
At pacific poker they offer this free NL tourneys where they raise the blinds every 5 minutes. How do you play there? Sitting and waiting for good cards get you to through the first 3 levels and then you are busted.
This morning I was at 600 stack and decided to go use this gap concept and went all in with QJ suited in early position under the gun. Lost all my chips. Theory and experience is pretty confusing right now.
Anyone,
To those who respond on earllier questions my side thanks so far

Theory gives you a good foundation but experience is what is going to give you the results in the end. By following anyone's methods of play you read in books will give you insights on ways to play but isn't going to guarantee you positive results.

yeah........ turbo tourneys
anything where the blinds rise so sharply is more of a lottery than anything actually resembling good play.
to be successful in 1 of these you would have to play very loose/aggressive, and be prepared to get knocked out.
I don't like em.
I would recommend you look for tourneys which are around the 10-15 minute blind raise, these give you more time to wait on the better cards.
Turbo tourneys are really for fish who wanna lose their cash as fast as they can.
In my opinion.

I am familiar with the gap concept and i would like to know how going all-in with q-j fits? Unless the blinds were 200-400 i can't imagine that being a good play. Risking all of your chips on a less than mediocre hand is not the way to win a tournament in my opinion. Even if the blinds rise very fast i would much rather wait for any pair or any ace and take my chances.
