Help with denominations!

Postby Maddy » Tue Nov 20, 2007 5:11 pm GMT

Ok.. So i'm going to buy set of the nevada jacks skulls 500ct. The only problem is is that my buddies and i usually play more ring games with $.5 and $.10 blinds. These are great chips and i'm getting a great deal on them, but the denominations start at $.25 and make there way up.

Anyone have any ideas on a good way to go about this and still be able to play a cheap ring game?

Buy chips with no denomination on them, then set the denomination based on each chip's color.
I was doing okay... but I'm gettin' over it.

yeah thats what we do now. but all the nicer chips that i'm looking at that i can get a steal on all have denominations. I have my heart set on these so i'm getting them either way. But i'm beginning to realize that its probably not going to be feasible to get away with the smaller ring games. But thanks for the quick response anyway :-).

maybe its time to raise the stakes at your home game...
Or you can just ignore the numbers on the chips and give each color your own value.

Get roulette chips. That's what the casinos use, and they're nice chips. Each player at a roulette table has a different chip color (and denomination.) For instance, you may have five chips of one color, and they are each worth whatever you pay…say $100 each. I may have twenty chips that I bought for $5.00 each. When playing at the tables, it may look like I have more money invested, but you paid out $500, and I paid out $100. Good luck in your choice. Ciao.

You're obv getting this from the PSO promo, so if I were you i'd do what I did. Go to chiptalk.com (is that the right way to spell it?) or any of the other bajillion of chip forums and mention that you have some of the higher denomination chips for trade.

I managed to trade some of the bigger ones from the nevada skulls set with some guy in my city, 1 for 1, for 100 of the pink and orange .25 + .5 chips. Now I have a set that works decent for <6 person cash and mtts, for no extra costs other than some bus fare to meet up with the dude.

All good advice, and quick :-) Not sure what the PSO promo is though, it might be what i was looking at. They just had 500 on their website for around $180 so couldn't pass it up. But as soon as they come in i'll show them to the guys and they'll probably be so excited playing with something other than crap that they won't care how we use them.

ohhhhhhhhhhhhh

lol someone is selling you the batch they got from pso. lololol.

Look at pokersourceonline.com for a decent promo at how to earn 500 nevada jack chips for depoing on 1 new poker site. I hate spamming for a big site like this one, but it's pretty much exactly what you need JUST if you want 500 nevada jack skulls. All the other promos there are pretty shit.

not to spam or anything for nevada jacks. but on their main site they have 500 with free shipping for only $180. I've yet to see a better deal out there and just stumbled on this one by accident.

Depo'ing 50 bucks on an online site and grinding out 100 hands is cheaper. =)
