A question about 2 pairs

Postby ffishh » Tue Jun 22, 2004 3:21 am GMT

It's probably answered somewhere, but I couldnt find it...

If 2 players have 2 pairs, and they are the same 2 pairs, do you go to the kicker if the kicker is higher than anything in the community?

I thought I understood that a kicker only decides 2 card hands, but if I have an Ace kicker vs a 3 kicker and we each have a pair of q's and 7's it would seem like the ace should take the pot.... or is the pot split.

Just won my first home NL home game tonite!

Thanks for any help

You use the best 5 cards, so any hand that doesn't use all 5 to make something (pair, 2 pair, trips, 4 of a kind) will use a kicker (or two, or three)
