Sammy Farha

Postby Ciso_B » Fri Feb 15, 2008 4:32 am GMT

I've been rewatching alot of high stakes poker lately, and although i like the guy , Sammy is a really bad player. I hear hes good at pot limit omaha, but no limit hold em cash games, this guy really is quite bad. Hes a pay off wizard, plays way too many hands to even consider making a profit even if he was the best at post flop play probably (which he certainly isnt!), everyone puts Elezra in the same group as Farha in that they play loose, but Elezra isnt anywhere near as insane as Farha. No idea how Farha has the money to play in these games , maybe he crushed the lower limits cos people player scared but at High Stakes I could never see him turning a profit in the long run.

He is a good player against certain styles, but there is no question he is a whale in all the big games. His biggest strength is his aggression, which makes him tougher than other whales, but there is a reason why all the pros love to play with Sammy. The "greatest PLO player" title may have more to do with flattering his ego than revealing truth, because I still maintain that there is very little skill gradation among top Omaha players--the reason Sammy is probably better suited to that game is that he can ship it in a lot more often and not be that big a dog.

yeah in HSP season 1 everything seemed to go his way, but after that it became glaringly obvious he was playing pretty damn badly
