I know my line is way off, but explain why?

Postby miaowmiaowchowface » Wed Feb 27, 2008 3:39 am GMT

So I'm sitting at 2/5 10-handed live with about 1100.
I have rocky image in general (I'm there a lot) But I think some people are thinking I'm on tilt a bit, I raised a whole bunch of hands in the last orbit.

Also, these games are pretty loose in general (If you play internet-tight you'll get murdered).

Anyway, In UTG+3 or 4... i forget... i have A10o. I make it 20$. I get 4 other callers.

Flop is A  7 :diamond: 3 :club:
Both blinds check. I think the board is pretty dry, so I bet 55$. A guy next to me who seems like a high roller, but I've never seen him play 2/5 before, makes it 110$. (I've seen him bluff like this before once or twice). I call.

Turn is a J :diamond: I check, he bets 200, I call.

River is a blank, If i remember correctly, a 6.
I have about 6-700$ left, so does he. Now for some reason I decide it would be a good idea to bet, and I bet 275$. I know this is the wrong play, but can someone tell me why?

He minraises to 550. Now I well and truly believe I'm dead- thoughts?

results later.

he has a set/two pair.
minraises mean he's seeing a river. hope you're willling to pay $1100 to see it. with ATo i wouldn't be. i prolly check the flop to keep the pot small, or fold to one of those minraises.

I'm folding to the flop bet. In my opinion, these guys just don't make these moves on that board into the PFR on a pure bluff, which is basically all you can beat.

oh well, looks like this wasn't that interesting.

I thought it was weird though, especially seeing his hand was A5  (I crying-called in the end)

The amusing thing about this hand is neither of you seemed to have a clue how to play each other.

Does this line hurts anybody else's head?
