Mid PP with huge odds vs large field

Postby LeeG » Wed Mar 05, 2008 7:43 pm GMT

Playing live 2/5NL. Stacks vary from $300 - $1000. I have everyone covered with about $1500.

UTG Bets $15 (defiantly a LAG from his play thus far)
4 more callers to me on button with pocket 9's. I call. SB raises to 90. BB calls and so does everyone else. There is $465 in the pot and it will cost me $75 to call.

My action?

I would've preferred 3 betting but I didn't get that choice.

Depends how much SB has imo. If only a little, yeah a push seems good, but if a lot the best ur getting with him is prolly a flip- TT+ AQ+ methinks?

Because of the dead money though, it would be worth as long as he didn't have too much... I don't know the exact mathematics.. that seems right anyway.

SB was a smallish stack, UTG was right at 1K. Anyway, I called, Flop was AKJ rainbow. SB checked, UTG pushed, and got called by 2 players. I folded and SB open mucked queens.

UTG showed AJ, MP+1 showed AT and other caller also showed AT. Turn was a T and river was a brick and UTG took it down. Other folder claimed to have folded KQ.
