Congrats and good luck.
I got your PM and am just too tired to make a long response right now.
Other than the lack of full time jobs (in vegas, at least anyway), dealing is truly the best job I've ever had. Relatively zero stress (even if someone stiffs you on a huge pot, generally it's forgotten about 20 minutes later anyway), good money, and it's something that comes naturally to me anyway since I love to play.
If you have good hand dextirity, able to quickly do basic math, and if you have no problems constantly stretching and reaching, it's really a piece of cake.
But then again, I look forward to dealing the games no one else likes dealing, such as PLO, Omaha 8, HORSE, etc, since dealing hold em gets boring and extremely repetitive after a while.
Practice practice practice, practice your shuffle and pitch, use both good decks and bad ("bowed") decks to practice, and when eventually auditioning, make sure to cut the deck properly, fully release the deck and square the corners after shuffling, cut the deck, and once again, fully release your hands from the deck. This is a procedure many dealers do not follow, and it just generally looks good if you do it the "right" way. Good luck and if you have any questions or anything, just let me know.
