I need an advice
Hello guys,
I started to play poker like 4-5 months ago.
Everything was going nice, I went to Vegas, played and I felt good.
I even got to the final table at luxor
Some night you win with hands like 2 & 7 , some nights you loose with a big slick. That is just the nature of poker.
I just happen to be playing a home tournament, with some family members and I lost both tournaments, it was not like big money, but the way I lost. I was the first out in both tournaments. I believe was playing very conservative, yet I would loose anyway
I was think do I just suck or is just bad luck?
What do you guys think?
Do I have my expectations to high?
Please help me!!!

You probably just suck. That's a fact of life after 4-5 months of playing poker, but doesn't have to be the case forever with practice, study, and reflection.
FYI, I won the first tourney I entered at the Luxor, and my first real money tournament online as well. Subsequent outings haven't always been as successful, needless to say

You said you were playing very conservative, maybe that's your problem. How much experience did your opponents have at the time? If they were noobies and you had 5 months of EXP on them you shoul have won hands down. If you ask me should have definitely beat a game where you had more experience and knew2 the compitition. that's just me though, and im no pro

That's poker
First of all when you go out of a tournament, isn't nearly as important as how you go out of a tournament. If you had the best of it, (i.e. you were a favorite) when the money went into the pot, you did the best you could. If however, you tried to bluff somebody that's bluff proof, or you tried to bluff somebody with a real hand, then you made a big mistake, and should think about why you made that big mistake, and how you should've played it. I've been playing for almost two years, and not a month goes by where I haven't thought I should become a pro, or where I haven't thought I was a complete poker loser. That's poker! In September I won over $3500 (in about 100 hours) so far in October, I'm down $2000. I've been the same player this month that I was last month. Read Mason Malmuth's book "Gambling and Other Topics." He goes into detail about card fluctuation and proper bankroll size.
If you want to figure out if you really are a good player: keep a log, play at a limit you can afford, play a ton of hours, and don't make drastic changes to your game after any one session. If after the next six months you're down, and haven't seen any improvement in you're results then I suggest you start playing bridge.
