Poker Stars Deposit

I've playing on Pokerstars with play money - accumulated 80K+. I've been playing just for practice for my monthly game.

Now I want to start playing for real money. Maybe deposit $100 or so.

1) Am I allowed? I havent kept up with any recent rulings.

2) What is the best way to deposit money without much fees?

Sorry if this has been discussed. I'm too lazy to read through all those threads about poker prohibition.

Started a new thread because there was a fight my original.

Anyway, I was going to deposit via the eChecks option. But halted that when they asked for my Soc #.

So what is another other option?

I thought I read somewhere that you can deposit via a prepaid Visa.

Also before the fight started, one of the posters said that you can deposit via Visa or MC now. How does that work?

What would be the difference between the prepaid Visa and a personal Visa or Mastercard?

Yeah fights sometimes start around here. Not often. Usually a mod steps in and tells both sides to calm it down or else. With these two it is more comical then anything. It's like the two little kids yelling back and forth that my dad can kick your dad's ass type thing.

Some banks will not support deposits into poker sites. The pre-paid visa doesn't care where you deposit to.

Banks don't like to do it because you could get your money in and lose it all then turn around and dispute the charge and usually win.

The prepaid cards are just that, prepaid. So you can never dispute it and get your money back. Once it's gone it is gone.

The last time I depo'd I used my Visa check card. No hassles and it was instant.

I use my ATM Visa check card from my bank without problems.

I dont think I want to use my Mastercard card. I think it would considered a cash advance.

I dont really want to use my Visa ATM card (Debit card).

So it looks like my option is the Prepaid.

What would be the biggest difference?

I guess I read somewhere about cashing out. How would a cashout work with my ATM Visa and the Prepaid Visa I get at the grocery store?

You can use an ATM Visa or prepaid card for deposits and request checks for withdrawals. You might have to send in proof of your address to request a check by mail.

Using a credit card to buy in to a poker site is not considered a cash advance. It is considered a purchase, and shows up as such on your bill.

Correct. Most major credit cards will not work, but my Debit card always has, and eChecks are very easy also.

As for cashing out, you can always request a paper check, which has never failed to reach me in under two weeks.
