The Greatest Hold em' Player
Who is the greatest Hold em' Player ever.
It's hard and I'd like to get a general poll going.
I'd say it's between
Doyle Brunson
& Stu Ungar
But whats the general View?????????
My Favourite player however is a man named
Charlambos Xanthos.

The best no-limit player ever was none other than Stu Unger. He actually went heads-up against Bruson in 82 I believe it was and, quote "skinned him"...So I guess I will go by that as to who is the best NO LIMIT player. But overall, the better poker player is Doyle Brunson. He can play and win at any card game...Whereas I haven't heard TOO much about ol' Stu winning any other tournaments. But I'm sure he has...

Whoa, that reminds me!
In case you didn't know, they made a movie about Stu. Michael Imperioli (Chris on the Sopranos) plays Stu Ungar. They just showed it recently in a film festival in Vegas. The trailer made me shoot. Check it out at http://www.stueymovie.com

Johnny Moss!!! He won every event in the first WSOP. He won the "biggest poker game ever" (the primer for the WSOP) a game that lasted for something like 10 months. And he was hugely successfull in big money home games, before the WSOP and poker tournaments existed. Stuey Unger was a great NL Hold'em Tournament player, but didn't really have all that much success in any other type of poker. I do think Doyle Brunson is great, and Phil Helmuth is probably the best all-around tournament player ever (he got into the money at the lowball event for Christ's sake).
