Is this a call or a raise?
I am writing a poker game simulator, and I need clarification on the following play. My simulator will allow 3 raises per round, but I am having difficulty determining whether the following play is considered a call or a raise.
Playing $2/4 - Start of betting on the turn - 4 Players remaining
1. Player 1 - Checks
2. Player 2 - All-In $1
3. Player 3 - All-in $2
4. Player 4 - Bets $4
5. Player 1 - Raises to $8
6. Player 4 - Raises to $12
7. Player 1 - Calls $12
So, my questions are:
A. In #2, that would be considered the 1st Bet of the game. Is #3, considered a call, or a raise?
B. If #4 a call or a raise?
C. Can #6 raise to $12, or have all three raises been used up in #3, #4, #5?

I'm slightly thick here but.....all are raises INCLUDING Player 2 I reckon cos he has RAISED the large blind. That means under ur rules that player 5 and any subsequent players CANNOT raise at all. I think that it should have topped out at $4 personally but I may well be wrong, it's all about whether Player 2 is considered to have raised.....

I thought that once player 2 goes all in for $1 everyone else would be a call for $1?
I think what you are saying is is agreeance with Genocidal. Once the bet is increased, whether or not it is by an all-in, it is considered an increase in bet level. So if my program limits betting to 3 raises (or bet levels) per round, then the bet levels are considered to be such:
1. Player 1 - Checks - Bet Level 0
2. Player 2 - All-In $1 - Bet Level 1
3. Player 3 - All-in $2 - Bet Level 2
4. Player 4 - Bets $4 - Bet Level 3
5. Player 1 - Raises to $8 - Not allowed
6. Player 4 - Raises to $12 - Not allowed
7. Player 1 - Calls $12
