When hosting a game...
OK so i hosted this poker game with my mates, no limit Texas hold em and something was bought to my attention.
In games, do you have a time limit to when it will finish; i.e. whoever has the most money at the end of 3 hours wins, or just play out until everyone but one person is bankrupt.
I played with a time limit and so the guy who was easily winning just folded all his hands and sat on his chips.
Another thing is what's a good guideline to go on for deciding when and by how much to change the blinds by?
Also what do you do with the people who crap out early?
Do they buy back in or what?
Cheers

The home game I play in we do a sort of cash-tourney combo. Our rules are pretty simple.
You BI for 100. If you bust you are allowed 1 more 100 BI.
Blinds stay fixed at 1/2.
You can leave at any time, but its customary to let the others know at least an hour prior.
It works for us - its social, you can win enough that you can feel good about it and not lose enough that it is going to matter. We usually start with 8-10 people and typically play down to 1 or 2.
