mucking

Postby x_callisto_x » Tue Oct 28, 2003 6:46 pm GMT

when should you muck your cards and when should you show your cards? I usually muck my cards, unless, I am called of course. Is this considered poor etiquette. I play with family and they say that I should show my cards, but I tell them that if they wanted to see them they should have called my bet. They are all against me mucking my cards. Sometimes I am bluffing and sometimes I have a winning hand but I never show my hole cards unless I am called. I am going to play in a tournament this week and I need to know what the etiquette is for a casino table.

You should never show your hands unless you have a specific reason to. The only I reason I find to show my hand is when I am creating a table image. When I want people to think im loose and stupid I'll always show my bluffs whether its caught or not.

I almost never show my cards (unless called). I almost never show my bluffs because I like to maintain a tight image so I can continue to bluff. I also don't show my bad beats like a lot of players do. I don't like to show people what I was three-betting, back-raising, etc. Giving free information is almost always a mistake, unless you're doing it to manipulate your opponents.

P.S. This is poker -f*ck your friends!
