nolimit tourney in Toronto on July 18th

Postby sweetballs » Mon Jul 05, 2004 1:35 pm GMT

I am throwing a nolimit holdem tourney on July 18th at 133 Tecumseth which is south of Queen and west of Bathurst. It starts at 12:30 in the afternoon and players are requested to arrive at noon for processing and seating. The entry fee is 50 bucks. There is a earlybird bonus for buying your entry early. Estimated prizepool of over 2000 with top ten players getting paid out. This is a fundraiser so of your 50 dollar entry fee a percentage goes to the fundraiser. Already have 30 players should be great. Email me at greg4@rogers.com

You start with 1000 chips, an extra 250 for the earlybird bonus and an option to get 250 more to start for 10 bucks upon arrival. So you can start with 1500 for 50 bucks.

I'm interested in what the fundraiser is? Is it a charity game?

fundraiser tourney

Postby sweetballs » Wed Jul 07, 2004 12:14 pm GMT

The fundraiser is to support a not-for-profit theatre here in Toronto called Theatre Passe Muraille and an upcoming production to be premiered there in 2005 called "The Rochdale Project".

The idea for the the holdem tourney came about because so many people in T.V Film and Theatre play in various home games across the city. Initially, I was going to keep it exclusive to the industry but decided it was a great way to meet other people with the same love for poker we all share!

I am a professional actor and producing the play with Theatre Passe Muraille.

Thanks for your interest.

The max number of players is probably going to be 60. If you want a couple of stiff drinks, I ask you to bring a flask or something else discreet, it would greatly appreciated. If you want to ensure for seat and get the bonus chips, email me at greg4@rogers.com
