Yeah, see, to me tourneys are way more frustrating than cash games. In cash, a buy-in is a buy-in regardless of the flip situation. But in a tournament, the difference in winning or losing one crucial flip might be worth 10x the money one way or another, and I hate that so much. Or, I might play unbelievably well hours on end to min-cash because of a bad beat, whereas if I'd been playing cash I'd still be way up.

Do what you like, mate. It's just most of us suggested cash games because you were remarking how frustrating tourneys had become. Not to mention, I've always been of the opinion that a good player can make much more (and do so more consistently) playing cash than tourneys (aside from a few flukes like Sean f*cking Deeb et al), and I definitely count you as a good player.

I think your playing the 50 and 100NL right?

Do you need to be putting yourself in situations where you are 'flipping' at all? You've got all your money into the middle at least 4 times (preflop i assume) on the cash tables today.

With your poker knowledge and experience, I would of thought it would be better for you to spend less time getting your money in the middle preflop and concentrating on winning marginal hands on the turn and river.

I'm sure people like miaowmiaowchowface will disagree with this answer, but it seems to me that these levels are beatable long term with a little time and patience, so (because you are judging your results over one day) why bother putting yourself in a situation where you could lose five coin flips and concentrate on situations where your poker skill comes into play.

this is all fine and dandy in theory, and i would agree with it. but when everyone around you is jamming preflop you are forced to flip with them.

I have been reading Daniel Negreanu’s book where in it Todd Bronson states that you should not mix the two, cash games and tournaments, he goes on to say that they are different games and he has seen a lot of tournament players including the winners finish a tournament move to the cash tables and loose. He states he has won millions of dollars from them over the years. He admits he can't do it and needs time to adjust his game. He suggests you should play one or the other in a minimum of like two monthly cycles just to keep your head thinking correctly.

Just a thought and knowing your ability, you may try moving to the 9-10 player tables and paying more suited connectors splits etc, utilising your post flop ability. I find that the 6 player cash tables can be likened to turbo S&G with the emphasis on aggression and the luck factor. I’m still trying to get my head around the 6 player cash tables as well. I tried 9 player tables but got board LOL.

If you think you run bad try flopping 8 sets in one session and losing all 8 to flopped str8s and flushes.
Thats BODOG for you on a typical day....Same day I had AA 4 times and lost all 4 to callers who hit sets and lost another 4 times with kk vs aa.......Just another day at the office...lol :(
