Disconnect problems
This is a bit long, but I thought I'd include all the details for any tech-savvy people out there.
I'm on Pokerstars and am having disconnect issues. It is really frustrating. I get disconnected about once every 10 minutes. It reconnects just fine, but it is irritating as heck. Once, it disconnected when I pushed all in during a cash game. Yikes! (all was fine - I won).
I originally loaded Pokerstars on my Windows ME machine. (Yes, I'm one of the 10 people that have a machine with ME on it). The connection was just fine, but ME has memory issues and can't handle multiple table screens open at the same time. The entire machine locks up and has to be cold booted.
So, I loaded the software on my XP machine. No screen issues, but I immediately got these periodic disconnects.
I have both machines networked with an additional printer. I have a Linksys router (not wireless), and my internet connection is through a cable modem.
Since everything seems ok on my ME machine, logically it doesn't seem like the router or the modem would be the issue. I rebooted the XP machine and it didn't help. I also disabled the Microsoft firewall and that didn't help.
I've contacted Pokerstars and sent them some log files, but I haven't heard from them.
Anyone have any suggestions?
