Live 3-5NL - Hand 2
I think I left quite a bit of value on the table here.
V1: middle aged woman. Seems to be a pretty decent player. She mixes it up and isn't afraid to bluff.
V2: Early 20's kid - sees lots of flops and overvalues top pair.
V1 starts with $1000
V2 starts with $400
H starts with about $1000
4 limpers to H on button with 9
7
.
V1 in SB raises to $40
folds to V2 who calls, folds to H who calls.
Flop:
5
6
8
V1 leads out for $150
V2 calls
H?
Obviously not folding, but ideas on extracting the most money from this pot. My read is that V1 has a big pair (she recently played pocket aces almost the same way except with a bigger bet on flop). V2 either hit a set, 2pr, or maybe pair+SD

I think you should raise this. V1 may be a decent player but she may not be able to lay down AA and if V2 has some sort of pair combo/set hand then you are going to get action from him.

$250 more looks good here. I dont think flatting is terrible, just think raising is better. You might get a gay turn which loses customer(s).

Re: Live 3-5NL - Hand 2
Since the goal is to get V1's entire stack, I'd punch it up just enough to get V2 all-in and entice V1 into playing, and then setting up a good turn value bet or shove in a large pot. I'd hate for a bad turn to kill our action, because even if V1 is on AK and hits, there's no guarantee we're getting her stack. I think we have to assume at least one of them has a hand and try and get value. I don't slowplay very often, especially not on a drawy board like this.

I ended up min raising and both folded. V2 open mucked 87. V1 told me later she had pocket kings and was probably done with the hand unless she hit a set.
