hows my line?

Postby Ciso_B » Fri Nov 06, 2009 8:59 pm GMT

No notes.. I sometimes would bet turn, but i thought he most likely has a hand with good equity if he doesnt have me beat anyway, so I checked (strangely for info), then he bet a modest 720...and although I could have been being trapped... I felt like top pair rated to be good more often than not. Stacks arent' exactly deep too, did i overplay here ?

Although you recommend fold pf, but are you telling us you never play a hand like this?

Surely, sooner or later your cards dry up and you need to start playing less than premium hands?

awful way to think about it. u make the most +ev decision based on your given cards, and that here is to fold, especially if your bad postflop

So although no one has shown strength before you (there's been two limpers) and you have odds of over 8/1, you still consider A6 to be worse hand and fold?

what use is ur 8/1 if when u hit flops u f*ck em up anyway, what u have here are reverse odds. this is just burning chips

Please could you explain this in more detail?

Are you saying the issue isn't the preflop play it's the lack of ability to play correct poker post flop?

I would say A6 has a small ability to hit real hand oop in 4 way pot (unles you hit triple 6 on the flop), so you either win a small pot or lose the big one. I would more like the shove pf here.

Shoving like 30bbs with A-6 here is not something im gonna do, its just pointless, try to pick up like 4bbs? Risk my tournament for that just seems silly.

A-6 isn't a great hand admittedly, but with no raise pf, and being in for sb , seems obligatory to complete. Now, Im getting better at folding total junk in the sb, but im not giving up any suited cards, or hands that have showdown value.

I'm not gonna over-play top pair type hands 4 way usually, this seemed like a reasonable spot to go with it. As it happened, this player had A-8 and won.

It seems poker these days is - if you dont make an agressive play any time u CAN, you're making mistake. That's fine , but completing the sb with antes and multiway isnt THAT bad imo.

Well, I have misread the stacks somehow, the convertor says M=13.25 (M isn't BB?). 30BB is really too deep to shove here.

I don't have a big problem completing the small blind and seeing the flop. You made an information bet on the flop and you received some information... he called... meaning he probably has at least an ace and a better a kicker. (Maybe more)

When he bet on the turn you should have gone away. Top pair w/ a weak kicker is an invitation for pain. The reraise over the top just isn't my style. He will only call you if he has you beat, and it really doesn't take much to have you beat in this case.

Fold it. Hate it. Move on IMO.

(To be honest though, he was a bit of donk calling your reraise w/ A8)
