amazing stats

Postby stringman » Tue Nov 10, 2009 2:11 pm GMT

I have played on a site for 3 years and I am a winning player. But this I have to say. Over the course of 400k hands plus when holding ak or aq in first 4 positions I have flopped 1 of the 2 cards less than 7 per cent of the time. When I do flop one of the cards I lose over 65 per cent with that holding. The site is BODOG. Are there any other players that have had this happen over the course of so many hands? Another thing I have found and think is odd is when I flop a set a str8 or flush flops about 40 per cent of the time. The number of times aces lose when heads up is also beyond belief. i understand that many times we don't see the aces when a player folds but it also seems very high to me. As I have said I am a winning player overall by far but just want to know if there is a similar feeling out there in cyberspace.

Please, tell me the secret, how did you manage to be winning player, while running constantly into all those suckouts. You would have to make millions playing other "objective" sites, if there is any.
Otherwise, I think the most players feel the similar way as you. As for me, I feel like whenever I make amazing run like 10 winning sessions or 10K hands, the "doomswitch" is turned on and it's all gone in 1 or 2 sessions.

I just keep plugging along...but it is really starting to get on my nerves lately....I am thinking of quitting online and going back to playing live poker exclusively...I live in Vegas and obviously finding games are no problem lol....I just hate going into smoke filled casinos...even though poker rooms are smoke free I have a hard time going through them....There are times when I think that online sites punishe solid players to some extent in order to keep the pool of players intact...I know there is one constant in the universe and that is math...I also know there is varience...but to the extent that I see no way...I once sent Bodog an e-mail questioning them about certain anomolies and their answer was basically to just trust them...Sound familiar?....The problem is that when I have aq or ak in early position I now just try and find a reason to toss them away...that seems to work in the long run...when one out of 11 times holding those two cards a card flops what do you really lose by tossing them?...

Latest from Bodog: flopped 6 sets today and lost with all of them...3 times another player flopped a straight...and the other 3 semi bluffed with draws and hit flushes...site continues to amaze me...can somebody tell me how this can happen so regularly?

varience can account for a couple of percentage points in either direction...but not to the extent that it happens at bodog...if you are supposed to flop one of 2 random cards how come i flop it less than 7 per cent of the time when holding ak or aq in first 3 positions? that stat is taken from over 100k hands played...varience my arse

Bodog is relentless with the bad beats...just beyond belief....Just went all in pre-flop with AA and some dude calls with A4 suited and flops the flush...this is after he hit 3 inside draws against other players getting way wrong odds...I am so convinced that Bodog punishes tight aggressive players...and I feel like a schmuck thinking that...this happens day in and day out....I still win but its so obvious whats going on here that I have to write about it...I can honestly say that I have hit more 2 outers than 15 outers there...how in the world can that happen?.....other players feel the same way and we talk about it...but the play is so bad that we continue to stay....the last 11 times the money went in I was ahead 10 of them and lost all 11...maybe I will just go back to live play...as I live in Sin City....

So tell us then, what are the hands you are making the money? Do you chase gutshots and underpairs too and always hit?

I have a rule and that is never to chase....Thats why overall I win there...but the beats that happen are relentless...today is just another example...4 losing days in a row....I know it will revert back..but the pain to the psyche is getting to be to much...as I said begore I think its time to just go back to live play...The idiots that play live like they play online get buried in the long run...all I am saying is that tight aggressive players should stay away from Bodog unless they can take the tremendous number of bad beats
There is no question that the program protects weak players to some exent and punishes tight aggressive players more than the norm...if your ego can take the it then by all means play there...and for those people who think varience can account for 20 percentage point or more swings in flops you are either fooling yourself or just unaware what varience is....if an occurence happens 30 per cent of the time normally and you find that it happens 7 per cent of the time at a site thats not varience...thats a flawed program...(4 or 5 points maybe but not 20) and that figure is from over 400k hands played...

Latest update..just got my money in good 3 times and lost all 3...was a 3-1 fav or better on all 3...
I cashed out most of my winnings from BODOG....anybody have a suggestion as to a site that actually runs a game that is random?.....I would love to find one....Since the latest update on bodog it just seems to have become worse....I used to be able to tolerate the beats but this is beyond belief...
