New Stars Player Note Icons
I just installed a software update from PS this morning and was delighted to find a new feature that I used to enjoy back on PokerRoom before they kicked all of the Americans out. PS now gives you eight color coded squares that you can use to categorize players. When you create a player note you also see a little colored square to the left of the note. You can click this and drop down the list of colors and select one of the eight choices. The best news is that these colors show up next to players in the lobby!!! If you click on a table to show the list of players you can instantly see if there is are maniacs, loose, solid, etc., players at the table.
You can also choose Options from the main menu and apply your own short descriptive label to each color. These labels then show when you drop down the list of choices.
[Edit="Nov 18th"] When you bring up the Player Note Options from the Options menu in the main lobby you can also change the color associated with each note (see the image in my reply below). Click on the colored square and you can select a different color.[/Edit]
Any note you created before today defaults to yellow so you may want to leave that as the default color.
My current selections are: Loose, Very Loose, Maniac, Very Solid, Competent, Default, Aggressive, and Moron <edited 12 Nov to add "Moron" to the list>.
This is a really cool feature (I relied on it quite a bit in PokerRoom) and I am glad to see Stars implement it.

Re: New Stars Player Note Icons
Cisco,
If you open an individual player's note you can click the (currently) yellow square at the left side.
. Clicking the square drops down this list and this is how they will look initially with "Custom Label 1", etc. You can select a different color for that player's note.
If you go to the lobby you can select the Options menu and then select Player Note Labels.... This will bring up this dialog where you can change the text for each label. After making these changes the text you have entered for each color will then show up in the list when you are making an individual player note.

I've also added "Moron" to my list since capturing this image.
These choices are actually saved in your player note file. It is very, very cool and, again, the color codes show up on the lobby tables. Here is the top of my player notes file.
And here's an individual player note. The curly-braces-6 "{6}" in the file shows that I classified him as a "Maniac".
