Need Answer about the 5 best cards to be used

Good day everyone....Last night i was playing with some of my friends and we came to a situation where we have to tackle the topic about the best of 5 cards that can be used by each player in the game...

Situation...

Player A: A Q
Player B: A 6

Board: 5 5 K J 2

obviously player A would win coz of the kicker Q

now my question is what will be the final or best cards for each player?i told my friends that it will be like this

Player A: 5 5 A K Q
Player B: 5 5 A K J

In my idea the player B can throw or disregard his card 6 so he can use a higher kicker which is K and J which is same with player A and my friend said no its not possible for player B to disregard his original card which is 6 and he needs or is obliged to use his card 6 because there is a pair of 5's on the board...I just want a clear and final answer so i can show it to his face that im right...Mods and experts about the rules or anyone with idea please share your thoughts here.thanks in advance and more power....

Btw i just want to add that i read somewhere about the counterfeiting style where we can use any of the 5 board cards to replace our hole 2 cards to create the best 5 card hand....and besides the main rule here is to have the 5 best hand card so i think that we can use and mix our 2 hole cards with the 5 board cards to be able to get the highest possible 5 cards...

It's true - in holdem there is absolutely no requirement to use both or even either of your hole cards. You are correct, your friend is a donkey.
