2x gut shot vs up and down
Ok every week I play a live sit and go game 10 buy in rebuys allowed .
So anyways one of the guys who plays Thinks he is the god of poker and he wants to be a dealer at the casino . Well we argue all the time over odds out w/e I think the guy is a complete ass and talks to much .
So one night we both ended in a pot short stack went all in on the flop for less then the minimum bet so we both called just cause it was cheap. My hand was weak when he said check it down ? I agreed and we turned out cards up
10JQ
him 9 4
Me A 8
All in had 55 or some shit
Anyways the argument that ensued between me and know it all was he said he had more outs then me . cause he had up and down . I said my double ended gut shot was just as god as a up and down . It is still a gut shot but just as good as up and down cause either end completes it so still a 16 outer .
I am right, right ?
Not to mention if he made his k high str8 I get the A high . We were not counting that just the actual chance of making the straight. I obviously had him dominated in the hand
In the end the turn was A the river K so 3 way split lol

lol.
Also, saying to another guy at the table "Check it down" is classed as collusion.
Also, 16 outs wtf? He has 3 outs to win (eights and you have one), you have K's, A's, 7's, so 11 outs. Yes, a double gutter is same amount as outs as open ended (eight).

this is the same guy that thinks A2 suited is a better hand then A5 suited when the fact is A5 is slightly stronger 5 beats 2 and you still need 3 perfect cars to make a str8 difference is with A2 you get the low str8 with A5 you have a slightly higher str8.
He does win alot and is a decent poker player but he plays to scared and to tight .

I know this is a home friendly game and what-not, just be advised that verbally agreeing the check it down and turning up your cards like that prematurely, especially with an all-in player, is a HUGE no-no in a live casino tournament.
Do what you want in friendly games, but best to stick to good habits and proper etiquitte.
