Flag Post as Spam

Postby Muck » Sun Jul 26, 2009 5:54 am GMT

I think this would help cut down on the noise.

Perhaps add some business logic to automatically quarantine the post if the poster has less than 5 and the flagger has more than 100.

I don't understand what you are saying.

We do get spam posts but not that many, so I don't think it's a massive inconvienience - or is it????. (We had 5 spam posts for the month of July and 6 for June).

Totally agree.

(As a mod, that's all I really seem to do!)

The thing that makes me laugh is the amount of effort they put into it, for us to simply delete it (and ban them) with a click of a button.

As soon as we get this minor gletch out of the system, I'm sure it will business as usual and the spammers will be no more. In the mean time just take a few deep breathes, sit back and enjoy the ride!

I think the thing that gets me about spammers it that:
-They are in effect cheats and I hate cheats.
-I’m as technically savvy to make and sell their BS but I choose not to exploit people for a living.
-I do have things that I would like to promote sometimes but have the dignity not to resort to spamming.

5 in a month is nothing compared to some other poorly moderated forums i've been on. Theres alot of forums right now that are flooded with multiple account posters making threads and continually bumping them with worthless info, just so that they can refer a url in between somewhere.
