Which one is the losing hand and why
I lost a recent hand with following and the reason was vauge at the least, can someone explain
Player 1 was dealt
Q 2 off suit
flop turn and river card came down
K 9 9 K 3
Player 2
10 3
Why did player 2 lose hand when he made a pair off the river card ?

Re: Which one is the losing hand and why
Because you have to make the best 5 card hand.
Even though you made a pair on the river, the board is already showing a higher two pair (KK99). Your pair has been counterfeited by the board.
KK99Q beats KK99T.

if you want to use your 3 then you have two pair KK33 with a T kicker..
KK99Q beats KK33T...
so that means you don't want to use your 3 but your T for a kicker...
KK99T and...
KK99Q beats KK99T...
that is why you lost
