New bill in California for online poker

Postby Phil14312 » Tue Mar 11, 2008 12:37 am GMT

From Cardplayer:

"California Lawmaker Introduces Online Poker Bill
Bill Will Study the Legality of Online Poker in California

California Assemblyman Lloyd Levine has introduced a bill that calls for the California Gambling Control Commission (CGCC) to investigate if online poker could be played by people in California through systems set up by Californians.

The bill calls for the CGCC to perform a study that would determine if current federal laws designed to curb online gambling would apply to online poker in California. The study shall include, but not be limited to, “regulatory oversight and licensing, technological issues, underage and problem gambling matters, methods of play and types of games that may be legally offered, economic benefits to state and local governments, and the means by which those games and forms of gambling may be conducted and operated.â€

Break the laws CA and lead the rest of this country into the new ages. You try it with canibus but they didn't listen. Hopefully they will when you talk about online poker.

I wouldn't expect a reversal over night but things like this all add up.

Definatly a ray of hope.

NJ and California poker players are now happy since we can now play poker online without anything to worry where to withdraw and worrying if we get caught by the authorities. I wonder why UIGEA wont' legalize online poker in US as a whole anyway?!

Because the US government doesn't need that tax revenue. We're doing just great without it. Duh.

If the US government doesn't need tax revenue coming from online gambling, then why UIGEA passed online gambling to any US states?
