Re: AQ- top pair facin turn all in
Tough, short stack villain appears to have committed after putting in a quarter of his stack before the flush draw hit and it’s now a good board to semi bluff with a big club, villain should not be purposely drawing to a flush with his stack by risking his chips on a long shot draw. If I were villain in middle position and called, I would be slow playing KK AA hoping to build a pot with 4 to act or get RR then push all-in, calling in this position with villains stack is very difficult post flop, there are not many cards that you can call an UTG raise with when there are 4 others to act.
I can only put villain on a very limited range TT-AA AJs+ AK AQ, most likely KK-AA, unlikely TT-QQ AQ-AK should have RR pre. If KK then villain has the K of clubs and a draw to the nuts. We are behind AA AK TT. Because villain is short he can’t afford to lose this pot so his fold equity is considered when making this call.
