I have played a lot of sit and goes and 100 people multi table tournaments but am now venturing into the ub 400 people No Limit Hold'em tournaments. My sit back and survive strategie doesnt seem to be working. I noticed I was playing less than 10% of the hands but I think I may have just not been dealt a good round. Is it possible I am on a cold streak? I only have a small test sample of one tournament
Anyways, I was wondering what strategies you would reccomend for this type of tournament. My goal is to place in the money and not neccessarily even the final table. I understand I can't win or place in them all but I want to make sure I'm using a decent strategie.
Above paragraph summarized for for the lazy ( What's a good strategie for multi-table tournaments when your aim is to place, not win?)

I havent cracked the top on any multitable tournaments-but I usually place in the top 20-30%. I feel that if I am playing 30-40% of the hands, then I am doing OK. Call the 2 blinds and one or two other hands. Keep and eye on the average dollars per player and try not to get too far behind. If you start to slip-look for some opportunities to steal some blinds by raising strong in late position against one or two callers.
