Mark posts as read

I wonder if there's a way to add a "Mark posts as read" control similar to that which appears for a forum, but associate it with a particular user.

When you see someone's a spam douche, just click the link next to their name, and all their posts are marked as read so you don't have to look at them any more.

Why is this differnt to 'view unread posts' or 'view new posts'.

It's not to view unread/new posts (I don't think)--it's to mark all posts by a certain author as read.

Often, I'll see some new name on the forum's front page as the "last post", go into that forum and find it was some spamming asshat. It would be nice to be able to have a button next to the username (or somewhere) which said, "mark all posts by this author as read", so I wouldn't have to go into the forums to mark them each individually.

Here's what the scenario I'm thinking of is: Let's say I come in and notice that "General Holdem Forum" has a new post by Bob. I notice several of the other forums also are marked as having new posts, with Bob being the last poster.

Then I go in General Holdem and see that Bob's an asshat. I don't want to mark all the other forums as read, because there might be other posts which I haven't read and want to; I just want to exclude Bob's posts from the list considered "unread".
